The National Terrorism Reinsurance Pools Congress organised by Pool Re and held in London in 2015 provided, amongst other things, an illustration of what might be achieved by individual national terrorism pools/schemes cooperating more closely.
A structure within which cooperation and collaboration between national pools was established as The International Forum of Terrorism Risk (Re)Insurance Pools – IFTRIP. Now comprising of 17 Member, Observer, and participant pools. Each with its own unique operating model.
IFTRIP has one simple principal objective for Members and Observers – the sharing of ideas and best practice by providing a forum for the exchange of experience in mitigation and capacity building against economic loss resulting from terrorism.
Meeting regularly, commissioning research, developing working groups and attending the Annual IFTRIP Conference are some of the activities the Forum are involved in.
